I've been told that I'm fearless.
Oh, I've been plenty scared many times in my life, but I've never let it stop me from doing what I was called to do. When I was graduating sixth grade, we got autograph books. The front page included a space to write our motto. I sat with my best friend and pondered what that should be. We both agreed on, "Learn to conquer your fear." That turned out to be my guiding principle throughout my life.
Career has always been an important focus for me. I gravitated to theatre at the age of 14, taking acting, dance and singing classes through high school. After getting my degree in theatre, I had an enjoyable career for many years doing musical theatre for adults and children. This is me in the Gingerbread Players' production of The Pied Piper.
My next calling was into book publishing. My friend Maria Ciaccia and I founded Excalibur Publishing and spent the next 7 years publishing 14 books. I wore many hats, learned a lot and experienced the thrill of becoming a published author.
I wasn't looking for another career, but then Life Coaching came calling! As someone who had pursued personal development for years, Coaching felt like a great way to give back what I had learned and use it to help others. I attained certifications in Life, Career, Retirement and Creativity Coaching and launched Good Life Coaching.
Along with Coaching, I began doing workshops and training. For 20 years, I trained Life, Career and Creativity Coaches for the Life Purpose Institute, the Creativity Coaching Association and NYU's School of Professional Studies, as well as doing workshops on career and life transition at the 92nd Street Y and numerous other venues.
And I continue to write and publish through my new publishing company, Good Life Press.
On a personal level, I've cut back on work to have more time to enjoy living in the heart of Manhattan, where I love taking advantage of the incredible theatre, museums, restaurants and historic sites. I have a gorgeous view that I love photographing. I also enjoy spending time with good friends, traveling, reading, taking personal growth seminars, taking weekly ballet and tap dancing classes, singing with the 92nd Street Y Broadway Show Chorus and dabbling in various arts and crafts.
